As far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by healthy-looking skin. Any person with a vibrant, beautiful skin would automatically get all of my attention. I would often find myself looking at other people’s skin -- too long for their comfort. Personally, I suffered from acne, psoriasis, eczema...always something that I had to cover and hide. I was not at home in my own skin. We want you to hear the story behind our products and values.

Our Story
Hi! I’m J.R., the founder of Karifee Cosmetics, and my passion for skincare started at an early age. As a young person, I faced the challenges of acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and I longed for the vibrant, beautiful skin I saw others confidently flaunting. So I took matters into my own hands – literally!
My handcrafted products turned into a nice business for a high school student, but I’ve come a long way since then. I’m proud to say I went from treating my own skincare issues to helping others to earning a degree to becoming a mom. And that’s what led me back to skincare.
No mother wants to see her 9-year-old experience third-degree burns that left her with physical and psychological scars. So, I once again took matters into my own hands to create safe and gentle skincare products that would repair damaged skin (this time, with the help of schooling to supplement my own experience).
Karifee is a blend of the Bambara word for “the tree of life” and the French word for “fairy.” And that’s what Karifee Cosmetics is all about – indulging in life and making dreams into reality! Everyone should love their life and feel free to fight for their dreams. That’s what I’ve had to do, and Karifee Cosmetics are designed to give you the confidence to do it too!
